Open Door volunteers work in partnership with a neighborhood elementary school to mentor at-risk children to develop responsible social skills and self-discipline through guidance, reading, prayer and fun.
The Cold Weather Shelter provides safe sleeping facilities for the homeless of Frederick . We support this project with both volunteer assistance and funding.
The Literacy Council offers workshops and supports volunteers and tutoring sessions in basic literacy and English as a second language.
For 25 years the church has provided meeting rooms and kitchen space for Alcohol and Drug Recovery Groups . Up to 20 meetings per week and annual all night seasonal vigils are held.
Individual members bring monthly food donations on Food Gift Sunday which are taken to the Frederick County Food Bank .
Western Maryland Interfaith Housing develops affordable housing for low and moderate income persons and works to create jobs and strengthen the economy in western Maryland .
The Family Life Center offers educational programming to build and strengthen families.
Baltimore Presbytery Mission uses the resources of 72 congregations to help meet the spiritual needs of local communities from inside the Baltimore beltway to Cumberland in western Maryland .
The Frederick School of Religion offers courses for members from over 40 churches in the area.
Frederick Rescue Union Mission works to enable persons to become self-supportive through the power of God's transforming presence.
Church Women United, a national, ecumenical movement, brings together women of faith from more than 30 denominations to work for justice and a caring society.
Women's Interfaith Safe and Sober Home, a local group, is dedicated to facilitating the transition from incarceration to independent living.
Habitat for Humanity provides decent, affordable housing, accompanied by caring, for families and mentoring services aimed at building a wholesome community.
The Frederick Interfaith Retirement Council, organized in 1991, facilitated and guided the establishment of an ecumenical continuing care community and is now known as Buckingham's Choice.
Our youth have traveled on mission trips to rebuild areas devistated by Hurricane Katrina.
We collect Special offerings such as the One Great Hour of Sharing (disaster relief funds) and Christmas Joy Offering (aids retired church workers and supports the education of minority students at Presbyterian schools).
