Needed items include laundry detergent, shampoo, conditioner, diapers, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, bathroom tissue, female sanitary items, and soap bars. Benefit Concert

February 26

Vocal group “Third Practice” will perform a benefit concert at 2pm in the sanctuary. Their repertoire will include David Lang’s Pulitzer Prize winning The Little Match Girl Passion, based on the children’s story by Hans Christian Andersen. This piece is unique in that it is scored for only four voices and a few percussion instruments, played by the singers. A free-will offering will be received, with all proceeds going directly to the Cold Weather Shelter. Come enjoy this special event and bring a friend!

An Ekwendeni, Malawi Update

Missionary Update

In August 2010, our medical missionary to Malawi, Dr. Martha Sommers, shared with our congregation the plight of operating a hospital surgical area with very limited water supply. Her message touched our hearts, and the congregation supported a special mission project to help fund the construction of one of three new water storage tanks. Through a Presbyterian Women Grant for which we applied and were granted, the Ekwendeni Hospital now has the first storage tank and water is more readily available.  To see recent photos of the project, click here.
